Salvatore used to respect might when they were younger, but now they respect strength of character, or rather people who take that first step even if they'll fail, as they now understand how hard it is for every day people to do more than get by. They realize not everyone is as monstrous as them.

they'd be classified as some sort of monster if they didn't participate in society and didn't work for the guild, most people who know them well would probably tolerate it because it's not harmful most of the time but it would sure be off putting if people mistook it for a lack of empathy.

Salvatore's thought processes are weird, for example, grudges are completely alien to them, someone took their eye and they were fine with it after the fact, but they also expect people to act that way and reply "why are you mad, that was yesterday" when confronted about it

same, I don't have many people to play with and my shy and autistic self makes it hard to want to play randoms, so I'm stuck being the most hated type of player.
