Again, Google can update specific core systems outside of a broad core update. And those smaller core updates can have a big impact on some sites. Stay tuned.

Hi @johnmu.com
FYI. Live blogs updated in every 5/10 mins, but Google is showing a 2β3 hr old timestamp in Top Stories. Initial indexing works, but fresh updates arenβt re-crawled.
SS attached for reference -can you please look into this?
πΒ I just verified a new GBP via text message. No video verification required. My process works!
Here's how I sidestepped video verification and got text verification for this client:

Interested in tracking hourly clicks while the June 2025 core update rolls out? I wrote a post in April about how to do that now that hourly data is available via the API (for 10 days). So you can track hourly clicks and impressions over the past 10 days

I've noticed this with my multiple properties. If Google is ignoring such backlinks, then why this is showing in GSC?

It doesnβt make sense that system adjustments would impact so many publishers at once without a specific cause. Clearly, something changed around that time, which is why people are expressing their concerns here and on Twitter.
06.06.2025 09:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Hi @johnmu.com,
I appreciate your response. If thereβs no technical glitch or bug, thatβs fine, but is this really just a coincidence? Many of us started noticing a decline in indexed pages around May 27th. Before that date, everything seemed normal.
There is a widespread Google indexing issue. Is it time for "conspiracy theory" that G stole content from webmasters to feed their ai db and now just deletes all those pages from its search?
06.06.2025 02:18 β π 2 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Yes @parmisanal.bsky.social, Iβve seen the exact same pattern on my site β a noticeable spike in Googlebot Desktop crawls in early May followed by a sharp drop shortly after. Glad to know itβs not just me. Definitely feels like something changed on Googleβs end around that time.
05.06.2025 13:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Hey, @johnmu.com
Youβve got 2 examples right here, and there are tons more all over Twitter. Do you still think this isnβt a Google-side issue, and itβs just something wrong with every single site thatβs reporting it?
Google Search indexing less since late May? Is it widespread? Is it a recent quality algorithm update? www.seroundtable.com/google-index... via @jasonkilgore.bsky.social @adoubleagent.bsky.social @glenngabe.bsky.social @gaganghotra.bsky.social @vijaychauhanseo.bsky.social @johnmu.com

This one was 25M before, but now it has been reduced to 18M. It's not just happening to me; there are many complaints going on Twitter and in the Search Console community
05.06.2025 09:41 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I noticed that millions of pages started deindexing after May 20th. It looks like something big is on the way, or Google is testing a pre-update for the next Google core update.
