A letter from Harvard University addressed to its community regarding the university’s response to an April 16 request from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The letter explains Harvard's compliance with the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) reporting obligations and affirms its ongoing commitment to support international students' visas. It stresses that Harvard does not seek to withdraw from SEVP and highlights the value international students bring to the university. The letter encourages international students to stay focused on their studies and celebrates their academic achievements, welcoming incoming students and acknowledging their dedication.
Continuation of a letter from Harvard University addressing international students and scholars. The message encourages them to stay focused on their academic goals and acknowledges their hard work as the academic year ends. It expresses excitement about welcoming new international students and commends all students for their dedication and resilience. The letter also mentions upcoming guidance for summer travel and emphasizes the value international students bring to Harvard’s educational and research community. It concludes with a note of commitment to student success and is signed by Meredith Weenick, Executive Vice President.
Harvard just handed all school and disciplinary records of international students to DHS. Absolutely contemptible. They're putting their own students in danger and lying by telling them that everything is ok. These students could be black bagged to Louisiana or El Salvador after this.

Folks are shocked that their institutions, after professing commitments to climate justice and DEI, are now caving to Trump and scrubbing all references.
It's brutal.
And it's the smallest taste of what our students felt when their universities called in the cops b/c they protested a genocide.

What are we DOING here? We're just meant to sit and act like this insane plagiarism and climate threat that requires more money than anything has ever cost is worth it? Are we meant to pretend that ChatGPT is worth this aimless, meaningless destruction of capital and our environment? For what?

If the Depp-Heard fiasco didn't, the Blake Lively smear campaign should drive home an important media literacy lesson that I'm afraid many are missing: when it seems like everybody is suddenly talking about something, consider the possibility that the viral moment was engineered.

Winter has arrived, and we are still in our torn tents. The world watches us and sees our suffering, yet no one acts. I kindly ask for your support to help my family and children survive🙏🙏.
