Filled out a credit card application today- was happy to put $0 fuel costs. Ours runs on sunshine and the odd free council charge.

I get it, my disability is hidden, i look normal and can mostly move normally so get strange looks when i don't "do" normal things.

Oh that and because of the N95 respirator of course but i'm old enough not to GAF 😆

Covid and Flu Can Triple Your Risk of Heart Attack

Heart attack risk triples within weeks after a COVID-19 infection and quadruples within a month after a flu infection, per a large review and analysis published Wednesday in the Journal of the American Heart Association.

I mask on planes- long haul flights so it’s tough going but worth not arriving ill at the other end.

I catch cold and flu easily, but since I’ve been masking )from 2020) I have almost never had a cold or sniffle, the exceptions have been when I stopped masking outdoors in crowded areas or amongst close friends and I let my guard down.

I wonder how many EV owners have solar panels feeding their cars? 9,000kms in and I have barely paid anything for charging, saving $2k a year and the environment. Sundays I drive the diesel and I don’t like it much.

Not only that, many devices now use an app for adjustments even over Bluetooth, but if the app becomes obsolete or the phone is outdated it may no longer work as advertised.

Pretty sure Covid increased the speed of my arterial blockage and heart attack- family history was a factor as well. Covid appears to accelerate pre-existing conditions.

Australian researchers unlocking secrets of COVID-19 may have landed on new ways to reduce organ injury from heart attacks and stroke

The SARS-CoV-2 virus has caused enormous global healthcare challenges and further led to longer-term health complications for millions of infected individuals. Much remains to be learned about the virus, but one thing is clear: the SARS-CoV-2 virus can unleash widespread, systemic effects throughout the body due to its ability to cause damage to endothelial cells (termed endotheliitis). This process is associated with microvasculature dysfunction and is a major cause of the acute and chronic complications (Long-COVID-19) of the disease.

SARS-CoV-2 can damage endothelial cells, disrupting blood flow and oxygen delivery. This microvascular injury drives organ damage and Long COVID.

The image is a table titled “Deaths involving acute respiratory infections by month 2025.”

It shows monthly death counts in Australia for three major respiratory illnesses — COVID-19, Influenza, and RSV — from January to August 2025, with totals for each across the year so far.

Breakdown:

COVID-19:
Deaths range from 129 (April) to 350 (July), with the highest counts in June (348) and July (350).
Total: 1,703 deaths by August 2025.

Influenza:
Gradually rises through winter, peaking in July (309) before dropping in August (121).
Total: 898 deaths.

RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus):
Also peaks mid-winter with 116 deaths in July, down to 38 in August.
Total: 345 deaths.

Columns for September to December are marked “na,” indicating data not yet available.

Overall, the table highlights that COVID-19 remains the leading cause of acute respiratory infection deaths in 2025, more than double influenza and nearly five times RSV.

Getting bombarded by articles about re-sale value, honestly, most people probably keep their cars for 7-10 years( at least warranty + period) - we flipped the last car at 15 years- we just about had to pay them to take it away. If it is reliable we will keep it a decade.

This is my thought exactly, I've looked at hundreds of studies (as a layman) and have read nothing that convinces me that COVID is a good thing to catch (or benign). Prevention is always better than cure, i continue to mask in the absence of clean air.

Sometime after my first infection I suffered NSTEMi and subsequent endothelial dysfunction- perhaps I was susceptible anyway through cardiac genetic history but I believe the 2 are linked, endothelial damage post sars is likely.

My uneducated but well read view (IMHO) is that COVID suppresses the immune system which allows the acceleration of pre existing but dormant conditions. Add to that there is a link between virus infection and alzheimers/dementure (also with influenza for example). Covid is best avoided.

Basic heater controls should be tactile, hate searching for demist controls via touch screen, it’s a safety issue.Voice control helps though accents throw it out.

Yes, i've read hundreds of covid pre-prints, only one made a connection with covid slowing particular forms of cancer, whereas most connect covid with more aggressive cancer. On the balance vax is the best policy, there are other methods to treat cancer. Generally Covid is very bad in the long run.
