I started 40K at 4th and 7th was my fave (if we ignore special detachment)

but i played enough of it to know its a kinda flawed game

The rules are nice and simple, some element of it felt inspired by the classic 40K 3e, but what i think makes it shine is its turn system, a random alternate activation really make for some fun and intense moments. Not a single game was dull for me or my opponent.

I only got this recently but wanted to play it for years, im sad i didn't got it sooner. I have never seen a game blend so well a mix of actions and reactions, you always get to play even on the opponents turn (witha price), the game flow is super dynamic and rather fast to play.

This game was ahead of its time, with its "simple to learn but hard to master" ruleset and alternate system really outshine it to its 28mm brother, the spectacles of those grand battles are just a delight to see.

Obviously, i think that "alternate activation" is a must for any wargame.
