Every person who says "of course there are some uses for LLMs" should be forced to immediately list what those uses are, taking into account that:

a) they cannot be accurate and there is no way to make them accurate

b) they have been repeatedly shown to make users dumber and worse at their jobs

Google AI search result for β€œwas 2010 fifteen years ago?” returning: β€œNo, 2010 was 14 years ago, not 15 years ago. The current year is 2025, and to find the number of years ago 2010 was, you subtract 2010 from 2025, which equals 14.
Current Year: 2025
Past Year: 2010
Years Ago: 2025 - 2010 = 14 years”

it’s honestly astounding to me how many people think that renaissance artists were just out there creating art purely for love of the game with no financial incentive

I miss season 2 of the internet when Google actually worked and I didn't have to run baby animal pics through an Al checker and my washing machine wasn't texting me 2-factor auth codes

Yeah, OP's quote is taken out of its context. Norway *is* in talks with Trump, of course, but Norway will still draw a line rather than spinelessly give in to whatever he demands - that's what he means by "not for any price". We'll talk and trade, but not kiss any rings.

my pet peeve is when someone expresses frustration at the world, i say "i'm sorry", and they say "it's not YOUR fault" like . first off, using "i'm sorry" to offer condolences is WAY more common than using it to apologize. and second off, "i accept your apology, but don't do it again" is WAY funnier

Hey, laundry that is washed but not folded is vastly better than laundry that is neither! Small steps are steps too. Folding is a bonus that can happen another day.

It's great to be in touch with our feelings. And, as Audre Lorde wrote in her journal, β€œMy feelings are real but not always right.”

Ppl need to stop seeing problems as competition. If I have a tack in my toe & you have a nail in your arm: the nail might be worse but I STILL have to deal with my toe. I don’t HAVE a nail in my arm. I have to deal with what I have. My toe hurts a lot. That doesn’t diminish your arm pain.

if a woman tells you you have "nice hands" she is doing everything in her power not to fuck you senseless please release her from her torment her friends are receiving the kinds of messages someone in prison would send

Not sure why I'm thinking about this today but anybody who says β€œlove it or leave it” is wildly wrong about love. Ignoring problems isn’t love, you’re thinking of enabling. If you love something, you try to fix it. If a pipe bursts in your house you don't choose between sewage smell and moving out.

The dichotomy of art blogs whose headers are like "ooh, watch out, this blog is NAUGHTY" and you have to scroll for minutes to see a nipple versus art blogs whose headers are like "sometimes NSFW" and the pinned post depicts a character doing something thermodynamically impossible with their penis.

I've seen Zohran's win be one of the major headlines today in the newspapers here, and I live in *Norway*. It's definitely considered a huge deal around the world, much more than I think anyone expected a mayoral election to be.

maturity taught me not to take release personally. sometimes losing someone is how they locate themselves. and that, too, is a kind of grace.

I think people underestimate their ability to help support a game just by telling a friend about it.

If I hear a designer talk about their game, I'm not usually convinced.

If my friend Will tells me to check out a game, I'm looking.

Your words, oftentimes, are just as powerful as your wallet.

Normalize hard conversations with your partners. They're just trying to be heard, and you often come out way more understanding and full of trust than beforehand.

making creative work is so much more than a means to a finished product.

it will feed your heart. the skills you learn will connect to other things in surprising ways. its fun to do. you get to make the things you've always wanted to see and have precious little blorbos.

The first game I played that I remember gave me that "ah, the game actively dislikes me" feeling (in a good way) was You Find Yourself In A Room by 2DArray. One of those Flash game website classics. Essentially it's a short text adventure narrated by a computer that *really* hates you. Good stuff.

It's easier to get state permission and medical intervention to die from the UK National Health Service than it is to get state recognition and medical support if you're transgender.

Thanks Wes Streeting, you lickspittle cunt.
