If you want to avoid watching that inauguration thing, TCM is honoring MLK Day by showing an impressive slate of film about Black Americans. They’re worth seeing and make for excellent counter-programming.

If Donald Trump really is foolish enough to use military force to seize Greenland and/or Canada, I wonder how many of our allies will abandon us and lend them support. I’m sure Trump doesn’t care, but it makes me nervous.

Nothing more fun that having text conversations with two different people at the same, especially when the both go on radio silence when you really need them to answer you (and they don’t appear to have read your previous messages).

Perhaps I’m too suspicious of others and not as trusting as I could be, but when a stranger in the parking lot of a gas station urgently tries to give me a large bag of leftover turkey, my instinct leads me to take a hard pass.

Just bought tickets to see Elvis Costello & Steve Nieve in March, so I’m trying to stay cautiously optimistic that America will still exist by then.
