A break-up album for me in 2003. Played it to death then forgot it existed until Music On Vinyl announced this limited repress. A brilliant debut album that I loved (and still do). I can’t explain why I never heard their 2 follow ups but I suspect they never came close which is why they quit in 2011

The point around living at home into 30’s is one Scott Galloway has been talking about a lot recently. The consequences of that for the survival of the human race aren’t to be underestimated!

Thanks for sharing. He spoke so well here. I had student loans but tuition was still cheap back then and the loan interest was CPI linked and I think only kicked in upon leaving uni? I have nieces who are on Plan 5 loans and I have enormous sympathy with those on Plan 2 which are a total disgrace

Mercury is a showcase of what I might have missed (despite best efforts). Who wins is irrelevant

Very ‘comforting’. That sounds like a lame adjective but it’s high praise! I’m now listening to Polica’s new one. Another band whose debut around that same time I loved and then I kind of forgot about them when life got in the way.

I enjoyed first play. Must admit I haven’t heard anything from them since My Head Is An Animal which I loved.

Deciding on a mount and moulding for my Shepard Fairey silkscreen print of Paul Weller based on Steve Rapport’s original photograph. Signed by them both and limited to 500. First time I’ve had it out of the tube today! Smells amazing, looks even better!

Cheeky eBay purchase just arrived all the way from Anaheim CA (I blame @richards7370.bsky.social for the #debutalbums0004 excitement).

Remarkably intact after 5,500 miles in feeble packaging.
