Not even sure why I bother sometimes. Almost 4 years waiting for KR Models' Leader, and faced with a mess in the post today... A dodgy handrail, snapped off details, broken packaging, and a first for a OO gauge mishap, the bogies weren't aligned!

I haven't said much on here recently, but I want to wish everyone a happy new year! I've not really had the energy to do the things I've wanted to do in the past few weeks, I'm still sitting on a huge trainspotting video to edit, and been consciously having a break from simming for a proper reset...

When Hornby announced PlayTrains, there was praise for targeting the younger market in some way, getting kids into trains early

When Rapido announced Ivor the Engine, it was celebrated as being a nostalgic win despite not having a home on any layout

These projects are allowed to exist, 'nuff said.

Remember folks, in life, don't let others ruin things for you. Time is limited in this messy world and it can't hurt to have some fun now and then. Be proud of you are, what you enjoy and what you achieve, those experiences don't need to be validated by others if they're constantly unapproving.

Also, I hope those of you who are into such things enjoyed the Season of Reveals for TSW over the past few weeks, just one more thing left to go 👀

I'm now off until the new year, time for rest and festive fun! I am exhausted... On top of work I've been redoing my room with new furniture and all sorts, it'll be nice to sit down and not think about any of that lol

And now today; the fleet is going through an interior refresh, the peeling 10th anniversary decals are probably in need of replacement, and while there's been some hiccups along the way (with 008 damaged for the 2nd time!) it's been a wonderful 15 years of Javelin service - here's to the future!

Resonating with me in more ways than one. When I first heard a 395 was going to be getting a trainbow livery, I jumped at the chance to see it, spent all day at St Pancras taking photos of it & it lights up my day if I happen catch a glimpse while out and about. Also glad we managed to do it in-game

395015 sat at Strood station on a weekday morning service to London. The train has ha patchy light blue sections on its nose, different to its otherwise slightly darker blue livery

395024 sits at Strood on an overcast day. The blue paint on the very tip of the nose is faded away to reveal the white undercoat

Commuting on them every day before the world changed, I got to notice the differences between each member of the class; 015s patchy coloured nose for a few years, the lowest numbers had satin material inside instead of matte, and 024 showing some white undercoat, they're all special

395015 sat next to a Class 700 and Class 377 at Brighton station on 2016's Regency Javelin railtour. The 395 is wearing a special railtour headboard for photo opportunities

395018 and 395017 sat coupled up at St Pancras International at the end of the Victory Javelin Railtour. Both trains have special decals featuring remembrance poppies. The trains are soaked, it had been raining all day

Some highlights from the past years would be; being allowed in the old mock-up at Ebbsfleet, the Regency and Victory Javelin railtours. 5 years ago I celebrated the 10th anniversary by riding on them all day. And the top of the pile, I was incredibly lucky to have a cabride from Ashford to London!

As well as travelling on them over the past 15 years, I've owned Hornby models of the 395 since they first produced them, lost count of how many times I used to watch the pre-production sample videos. And of course, driving it since TS2014, and being involved in SEHS for TSW, it's a core part of me

I do like me an anniversary, and today makes me feel old - Southeastern Highspeed officially commenced on 13th Dec 2009, and I cannot understate how much of an impact the Class 395s and the service they provide have had on my life. I've loved it ever since the first thrill of travelling at 140mph 🚄

So uhhh, I accidentally opened Vegas (it's pinned on the taskbar) and discovered that I have a video half-edited from back in May that I COMPLETELY forgot about 😅😂

If I were to finish it up, and add even more footage, who wants a SUPER long trainspotting extravaganza to close out the year? 😄

As 395028 crawls into Strood on a Ramsgate-bound service, I find myself in disbelief that 395008 ended up damaged again last night.. I still remember the day it hit a van in 2017. I hope it's able to be fully repaired in good time 😢🤞

Saw Wicked this evening, loved it! Not only is it fantastic to put such detailed visuals into my head, giving everything more context, but the FEELS, I experienced every emotion. And, I am amazed that it didn't feel too long, part of me was concerned about part 1/part 2, but it's fleshed out so well
