I miss Wheel of Time.

A mortgage locks in housing security in a way rent never can. The mortgage deduction for one! Renters don't get that. And a fixed rate keeps the monthly payment stable over time while rents keep going up and up and up and... Equity growth is great, but only 1 of the benefits of "owning."

Will someone who's never seen a Predator movie (and has no desire to but loves Elle Fanning) be lost watching it?

I will also say it gets better as it goes along. It's so strange that at first I almost noped out, but scene by scene I was drawn in until I couldn't look away.

The *plot* is about corruption and trying to change the spoils system, but the *story* is about personal ambition, character, love for one's family, manic self-centeredness vs concern for the greater good, and whether it's possible for a person to change. And the acting is great. Plus it's fun!

This I can accept. It's easy to be righteous when someone else will do the suffering for it.

I still can't take Chuck Schumer, but I'm turning my wrath back where it belongs - on the craven Republicans who will never care who gets hurt in their way.

I really liked it. The actors were obviously having a blast. Much scenery got chewed in the making of this series! The ending left me angry and sad and wistful.

I was going to watch Frankenstein tonight but ended up enthralled by Death by Lightning. What a great show! Frankenstein tomorrow.
