Comparatives basic primary teacher salary scale range in NZD:
NZ 61,329 - 103,086
AUS 96,713 - 161,312
UK 90,011 - 139,560
SINGAPORE 74,028 - 128,739
IRELAND 85,613 - 165,363
Other countries clearly value their teachers more through their remuneration.
Getting to a point where opposition need to be attacking whatever National's strengths are meant to be - because attacking Luxon is just free hits right now. And the uptick in negative media coverage of Luxon seems to be driven from inside the house - targeting him serves the new right.

I wonder if NZ media will start interrogating Jago's connection to David Seymour and the ACT Party effectively now has been revealed
www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...
New Zealand First leader Winston Peters is promising his party's proposed $100 billion 'future fund' will not be paid for with asset sales, but may involve cutting taxes for offshore investors.
Labour Future Fund and NZ First Fund are very different - Winston's version was about cutting taxes for offshore investors and bringing more foreign capital in.
Labour's is based on NZ capital, generating returns for Kiwis and protecting asset - I'm surprised no media has picked it up

So the Prime Ministers new attack on teachers is their 12 weeks of school holidays which we all know many teachers work through.
Regardless. NZ Parliament has 20+ weeks of recess each year including a far longer summer break than most professions including teaching!!!
Today marks 53 years, over half a century, since we passed the Equal Pay Act in New Zealand... but the Luxon Government has taken us backwards.
