A friend and fellow resident of small town Minnesota,was talking to me about the hiring freeze at the local Soils Lab, and the effects for the lab, all collaborators , the important aero fuel research done there. I had no answers. But we took a moment to give each other courage. Courage, folks.

True - if these colors were not already contained in the light from the sky they would not appear in the reflection. But the medium selected which ones to cut out, and which ones to enhance.

It also means: People will engage in trying to synch earth events with rhythms of the universe, of which there are inifinitely many, and something will always seem to fit -- instead of facing the problem of 8 billion of us competing for resources on a limited planet, and the dynamics this creates.

Of course, that's not entirely true: It means we won't be taking pictures of some of the planets during summer again, because they are out of view.

I ventured into the -10F cold last night to photograph the planets. To the southwest we have Saturn, Venus, and Neptune; Mars, Jupiter, Uranus are up easterly. Mercury might join above the horizon in a few days.
I was asked: What does this mean for humanity?
My answer: Nothing.

Seems like the whole thing was a stunt to make sure we understand who has the power to take the circus away from the people.
