Sending hugs. The first year is so incredibly hard, especially when it's around a big celebration like Christmas. This will be our second without both parents around (Dad died in Jan 2023 but was in hospital for Xmas 22, Mum has dementia and is in a care home). Look after yourself xx

The Shining. It's frigtening not just for the hotel & its ghostly residents, but also what happens to Jack, which is incredibly unsettling.
Also The Colorado Kid, a brilliant mystery, with a rather lovely relationship between two old newspapermen and their protege at its core.

The M.R. James is my late Dad's old copy. He read me my first M.R. James story (A School Story) from this when I was about 12.

We found some nice stuff in the attic when clearing, but mostly it contained every single cardboard box
from everything my parents bought since c. 2009!
