I agree with Donald Trump:

Trump is not the right leader for his moment.

Aurora lawmakers maintain virtual meetings, overriding calls for in-person assembly - Sentinel Colorado "There's always going to be an element of friction in our representative form of government." - Mayor Mike Coffman

If Mayor Coffman doesn't want to hear from the public, he needs to find another job besides Mayor. You can very easily enforce time limits on public comments without infringing on anyone's first amendment rights.

3 wks ago she won an election to represent a congressional district in southern Arizona that hasnโ€™t had congressional representation for 7 months. But she hasnโ€™t been sworn in. So the district still has no representation. Why? To protect Trump and keep the Epstein files hidden.

MORE: Immergut issued a stark warning that the efforts by Trump to make a bad-faith justification to call up the guard risked plunging the country into a form of unconstitutional military rule.

Mark my words if and when these preachers get control of the party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible problem. Frankly these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them.

Even Barry Goldwater understood governance requires a good faith attempt to barter with others you don't get along with. And the current majority hardliners saying "take it or leave it" on government funding affirm Goldwater's warnings every day.

Hegseth & Trump ordered 800 of our top military commanders from all over the world to fly to a Marine Corps base outside of DC and all gather in one room today to listen to unserious, performative shit like this. What a fucking waste of money & time. What a stupid security risk.

Combine this latest declared purge with Hegseth's de-emphasis on laws of war training and we need to see this for what it is: the secretary of war is seeking to create a military that won't question orders that call for firing on US civilians.

FDA approved the abortion pill mifepristone 25 years ago.

So why is RFK Jr. raising questions about it now? He's trying to roll back abortion access nationwide.

I'll keep fighting against attempts to restrict accessโ€”because medication abortion is safe and effective. Period.

JD Vance: Democrats are about to shutdown the government because they demand we fund Healthcare for illegal aliens.

Joe Walsh: Nice try. You Republicans control the House, the Senate & the White House. Why are you whining about the Democrats? You control the entire federal government. Any shutdown is on you.

2012 Colorado Amendment 64 - Wikipedia

During my tenure as Vice Chair, the Libertarian Party of Colorado endorsed Amendment 64 (when the old parties wouldn't) and helped Colorado become the first state to make cannabis legal again.

What's the next libertarian policy reform that Coloradans should adopt?

In truth, neither Congress nor the executive can claim to represent the undivided will of the American people. It is arguable whether such a thing even exists in the American system, as the public is not a single entity but an ever-shifting set of groups and interests. Congress represents the American people in their diverse and fractious unity, and the president represents a will of some of the people, briefly assembled for a fleeting purpose, to dissipate until it forms anew in the next election.

It is simply a conceptual error to think of democratic legitimacy as a grant embedded in a single person. Itโ€™s better to see it as a relationship between our political institutions and the publics they serve, each responsive to the other as they work together to do the business of government.

The thing Kimmel did best is emphasize this wasn't just the principle of the matter in his one case, as if it was an isolated incident. It's part of Trump's broader system-wide attack on free speech. He noted both Colbert and Fallon, but also the attacks on journalists, the extortion lawsuits, etc.

I know Iโ€™ve only been a Democrat for 3 plus months, so if Iโ€™m overstepping my bounds here I apologize, but damnโ€ฆthe leadership of my new party just doesnโ€™t fucking understand the threat and isnโ€™t fucking meeting this moment. If you canโ€™t relish fighting a fascist, then go home.

Yes. Yes we do. Most of us, anyway.

Hundreds of Alligator Alcatraz detainees drop off the grid after leaving site As of the end of August, the whereabouts of two-thirds of more than 1,800 men detained at Alligator Alcatraz during the month of July could not be determined by the Miami Herald.

More than 1800 detainees are missing after the closure of Alligator Alcatraz. Their families and lawyers canโ€™t find them and theyโ€™ve vanished from the ICE database. Feels like this should be a much bigger story www.miamiherald.com/news/local/i...
