Sitan's ancient is Erebus while Seiji's is Nyx! ofc I gravitated to Thanatos before settling just bc Sitan's namesake is a god of death but I wanted both of their ancients to have an intense and deep bond with each other that would echo beyond their ancient selves 🥹

yes!! & reinterpreting mythos is just like continuing it imo and seeing others do so for filipino mythos and adding their own experiences to it makes me so happy. after all, if ppl can reiterate the greek/roman mythos ad infinitum, why not us 😤

his bg as part of being the first expedition is very interesting from a lore perspective, but i care more for how he will gel with the rest of the party, especially because i think maelle is sort of adversarial to him right now afaik.

i'm very curious to see how they handle exchange gustov for verso because i've likened that change of characters to zestiria, which did not do too well in making us attached to zaveid (sorry zaveid i know you're hot but that was all that was going for you.)

seeing characters from different perspectives and facets i feel is the strongest way to build attachment and the feeling that you are rooting for the best possible outcome for them.

anyways i'm glad that the same has some lighthearted moments with esquie and moments where gustav and maelle are acting like siblings. it really does feel like a JRPG in the sense that there is a balancing act to keep the player engaged but also invested into the characters

i think every time a form of media has the moment when the character pulls out a gun and contemplates always gets me because even tho its sort of cliche, the human reaction to seek refuge from the intolerable pain in any way is so real.

there is so much hope, despair, and despondence in the starting area from all the npcs that it feels so alive and then you're pushed into the main continent with just the survivors of the onslaught

i think the fact that they know /when/ it happens is so cruel but the time constraints that the expeditions must work with make it the whole situation so dire and you can FEEL the pressure that the characters are feeling.

the starting sequence was very beautiful set up. it's a very heavy beginning to start with the gommage but it sets up so much of the driving force of the game. it evokes an immediate emotional connection as it invites the player to partake in the all too common experience of saying goodbye

i'm a few hours in the game and hit Act II and wowee so much to unpack from that firs act. i'm absolutely blown away with how beautiful the game is and the MUSIC. wow...
