Thank you! I do have the Strickler 8-shaft weaving book. But my loom is only an 8-shaft loom. But so far Iβm super happy with it!

I love wooly crafts - spinning, knitting, crochet - and music. I like to go to gigs, we play pen and paper RPGs with our friends and sometimes I get obsessed with video games (BG3!). My kidsβ friends think thatβs weird ;) weird is good!

28.06.2025 18:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I was on vacation in Latvia in May. The warp is a single wool thread from a local factory, Latvian wool. About sock yarn weight. I bought quite a few skeins while I was there, beautiful colours - itβs not merino, so itβs not extra soft. But Iβm sure itβll make a nice warm and cozy shawl.

First of two shawls Iβm #weaving on the #louetdavid 3. After hemstitching Iβve started the second one, different weft yarn. Iβm loving the loom so far!
26.06.2025 20:00 β π 22 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Very cool! Whereβs your pattern from? Iβm new to my 8-shaft loom and Iβm still struggling to recognise what draft that might be.
26.06.2025 18:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Oh well. I did it. Had to get myself a new to me #weaving loom - Iβm putting a first warp on the #louet David 3; Iβm hoping Iβll manage to set everything up ok with the video they provide about adjusting the harnesses, where to fiddle if things arenβt aligned properly. Wish me luck.
20.05.2025 18:05 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If youβve already got the skill sets to do all those other crafts, thereβs even less of a reason to start with a scarf. For an absolute beginner in everything yo do with yarn it probably depends on the personality; but yeah, if the sock is the goal - go for it. Good start, it looks very promising!
24.03.2025 05:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ohhhhhβ¦ π

21.03.2025 14:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβm looking for testers for my latest pattern update: π§ DEWDROP the Water Dragon in plush chenille yarn! This little dragon is full of gentle charm and flowing grace, ready to splash onto your hooks. β¨

19.03.2025 14:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm actually fine if thereβs not a lot of action, but I have to really like the characters then and the way they make choices/think about lifeβ¦ I donβt know, it just didnβt grip me. I might still finish it to see what itβs all about. I havenβt read the trilogy you mentioned. Recommended then?

Iβm home sick with a flu-like virus; feeling a bit better, so Iβve got the energy for some knitting with my #handspun Shetland wool. Iβm liking the pattern, knitting a larger size shawl than the original Autumn Leaves shawl though. 6mm needles, 8-9 wpi π§Ά. Almost halfway done.
19.03.2025 10:18 β π 47 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm about two thirds in and Iβm still on the fence about it. I do like it, but it doesnβt really draw me in. Itβs been a couple of days since Iβve last opened it. My husband really liked it though.
18.03.2025 14:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thank you! Iβm in love with the colours, too.

Weaving project no. 2 finished. #handspunyarn for weft and accent yarns in the warp. For a friendβs birthday. π§Ά slightly wavy at the edges due to different shrinkage while wet finishing. The purple has recycled sari silk in it and didnβt draw in as much while fulling the cloth. Still happy with it.

First step done. Iβll wind the warp on the loom after our dancing class later today. Mix of handdyed sport weight merino/silk/linen yarn plus two handspun yarns. π§Ά

Weekend morning #spinning. Listening to BBC radio 6, theyβre playing an old Kate Budh song no other radio station would probably ever dig out. The sun is shining. Birds are singing outside where itβs a bit chilly still, but itβs promising to be a mild day. Have a lovely weekend everyone.
08.03.2025 08:51 β π 20 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ohhβ¦ so nice! That is one fibre craft Iβve yet to attempt!
08.03.2025 06:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Two skeins of #handspunyarn in a bowl. The colours range from blue to purple and pink.
This is the yarn I had on my Suzieβs lace flyer: Polwarth mixed with Tussah silk; together 168g/approx. 1300m - itβs unbelievably squishy soft!!! Iβm definitely thinking a soft shawl with a finer sett. maybe the bolder colours (left) for the warp.
07.03.2025 16:00 β π 31 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you! Iβm hoping itβll be nice in a woven fabric!

My fun wool and sari silk yarn before its bath. Itβs drying now. Iβm planning on using it for some contrast yarn in the next #weaving project. On the weekend I should find the time to get the warp sorted. #handspunyarn
06.03.2025 21:30 β π 42 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0It has arrived, and itβs adorable! I still have to look up the instructions to remember how to wind up the yarn; but itβs real nice for plying little lengths of leftover singles on the bobbin.

#spinning for my next #weaving project. The colours are a bit off because I canβt ever remember to take pictures in daylight. Iβve decided to add a bit of fun with some wool mixed with sari silk yarn. Warp will mostly be a nice hand dyed sport weight (magenta shades of pink). With some fun bits.
