Marvellous arvo/evening out at The Grace Emily for legendary Adelaide band, Swimsuit’s long-awaited album launch. Joined by Elizabeth Prophet and dear friend, Sweeney. 🔥

Absolutely love the tracks that bookend this album. Quite unlike anything she recorded again. Reminds me very much of Marianne Faithful from around this time.

I’m seeing a lot of people blame the Monash University Museum of Art for the decision to postpone an exhibition featuring Khaled Sabsabi. The Museum didn’t make this decision and the staff are devastated. The Museum was ordered to pull the show by Monash Vice-Chancellor Sharon Pickering.

Yeah, I mean I’d prefer to use a platform which isn’t helmed by a neo-fascist oligarch.

Stanley's 2018 book was instrumental in developing my understanding of fascist ideology, as opposed to clumsy generalisation of saying 'this' or 'that' is fascist. The distinctions are critical. I highly recommend the book as a primer for how we've tilted since then into a much darker timeline.

Incredible album. Not intended as an offhand comparison, but I'm struck my how much this band sounds like a version of Broadcast if they had embraced shoegaze music in the late 90s. For anyone inclined, I highly recommend spinning "for anyone and you". mo-dotti.bandcamp.com/album/opaque

Algae bloom identified on Fleurieu beaches - News | InDaily, Inside South Australia The culprit was a tiny type of planktonic algae called Karenia mikimotoi and it won't be the last time a bloom hits our beaches.

Flow is the most beautiful movie I’ve seen since Hamaguchi’s Drive My Car. No dialogue. Astonishing animation..made in Blender on a small budget. Can’t imagine how inspiring its success will be for independent artists and those starting out. The final scenes made me cry hard. Btw, I’m a cat person.
