Got an itch to learn blood bowl because I like the video game. Figured if the motivation is still there by the time I finish painting a scoreboard I'll dedicate more time into making a board

The rules are definitely a lot. The new version, N5, has helped smooth it out a bit but it's still quite a learning curve. I feel like I've fallen on my face during deployment a half dozen times before I finally started to get it

I also enjoy Age of Wonders 4, and playing those hex based battles make so much more sense to me. I feel like I fight almost all of those manually

I picked up Total Warhammer 3 on the steam sale and have been playing it for a week now. It reinforces to me just how bad I am at RTS games vs turn based strategies. Like I love the game, but I absolutely cannot manually fight battles, even on easy. Auto resolve or nothing.

Note to self: get the Control Robot ability before heading into the OTS. Hack these bastards and turn them on each other!

They’re described in #stargravedeathvector as being like regular automatons but having satchels on their backs, containing a plasma mine. I wanted something that stood out more - so I don’t forget😅- so added flamethrower canisters painted glowing blue for the plasma, and gave them orange clothing.

Two automaton bombs I made from the NorthStar Military Figures automatons box.
They get close then throw themselves at their target, detonating themselves: a 4” diameter +7 attack😱 They can also blow up if killed.

Some pics from our Frostgrave game Friday. We're doing all the scenarios in order, and boy are we all hooked already.
We got ambushed by a werewolf, bear and several ghouls. Everyone maxed out on XP and got at least 2 treasures each so it felt like a very good game #wargames #wargaming
