Against automated plagiarism Cite as: van Rooij, I. (2022) Against automated plagiarism. Iโ€™ve been asked, in various roles1, to give my opinion on the challenges posed by Large Language Models (LLMs)2, also known as &#82โ€ฆ

As exercise, you could give them the principles (see section 4 in the paper) and let them think it through.

yes, but the real point is surely to come up with any, preferably implausible, AI-related idea, pitch for/get stupid amounts of funds and then retire a safe distance... somewhere north-east of Merthyr for example.

Maybe LLM's do have a sense of irony, if not humour. Student's LLM-generated essay, passage about developing search terms, supports with article entitled, 'Automation of systematic literature reviews: A systematic literature review' - thought I was hallucinating ๐Ÿฅด๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿ˜ถโ€๐ŸŒซ๏ธ

because the central point is about reducing friction, so that more people who wish to move could do so... rather than being chilled off it. This is to ignore any references to demographic collapse which may provide a different 'solution' to the 'problem'...

likely would have same impact as LML's will have in solving poverty, world peace or climate change... i.e. inverse. Logi more likely to turn heads with a mouse that composts itself -another solution LML's will not deliver.

You love the outdoors. So why are you pooping all over it? Millions of Americans a year visit national parks and many leave their business anywhere. Contrary to popular belief, that deluge of poop is not going to decompose

Well you seem to like the stats from London, so let's take a little look at what happened in some other cities that introduced 30 km/h speed limits...

Brussels ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ช
- road deaths โฌ‡๏ธ 55%

Paris ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท
- serious and fatal crashes โฌ‡๏ธ 40%

Zurich ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ญ
- road deaths โฌ‡๏ธ 25%

might have thought that's a benefit to people who buy things like that in order to parade... on another point, sadly the idiot racers also kill wildlife - we're sure to see a number of young bird corpses on our streets as spring turns to summer

yes, and traffic (and other road use, even simply crossing a road on foot) flows better if the human feels better able to judge the speed of other road users. E.g. less hesitancy entering a road/roundabout - less stress too!
