I even deleted everything from my personal acct before the election. It really helped me mentally and emotionally hold space for change on and offline. Wherever you are in your process of deciding how to show up on socials under fascism, I believe having options is a good thing . 4/5

On centralized platforms, we're renters without renters' rights. We can be evicted anytime. I've been professionally active on IG since 2019. My longtime followers know how little time I spent there in '24. I've known for a while that I was never going to start using IG again the way I used to. 3/5

Not all decisions are choices. Regardless of the decisions we make, users of vulnerable groups, like the many I am a part of, have always had to deal with losing access to accounts and losing engagement that no actions can restore. 🏳️‍⚧️♾️⚫🏳️‍🌈😷 This will always be an issue on centralized platforms. 2/5

A lot of people are moralizing their own and others' choices to remain on or switch social platforms as if the decision reflects a binary or consensual choice. For members of targeted groups, neither staying nor leaving (or staying AND leaving) are binary or consensual processes. 1/5
