If they would have just unfollowed me we could have chatted and got to know each other. We certainly had a lot of common ground. But common ground is not sufficient to follow me.

I've had a number of strangers who followed me recently. Most of them looked like they were members of my communities, and shared common values and politics. But they were still strangers. Asking them to not follow me resulted in them blocking me.

Leadership includes understanding who you are following. And violating their stated boundaries, no matter your interests, is not a leadership value you should be demonstrating.

Some are really great at it. I'm not sure how well this is going to market their business, though.

The number of entitled folks out here is unbelievable. I'm trying to manage my followers list to folks I know or have at least had some interaction with. It's right in my bio. Yet over half the folks who have tried to follow me are total strangers. When I ask why I get nothing or a block.
