A very happy birthday to Wakatakakage who turned 30 today (Doesn't look a day over 25). Finished 10-5 at the Kyūshū Basho (九州場所) and took home the Technique Prize as well which was well deserved for an outstanding tournament. Hasn't won a title in the top division since Haru Basho in 2022.

"There were too many unreasonable things," he adds.
"I think things are easier now."

He plants rice to help feed the children of Tokamachi, Niigata.
"When I heard there were hungry children there, I went to make chanko for them & started the farm."

Isegahama Oyakata has announced that Terunofuji will participate on Day 1 of the Hatsu Basho, Jan. 12 in Tokyo.

In the meanwhile, the yokozuna will join the Winter Jungyo which begins on Dec. 1.

Yokozuna Deliberation Council Chairman Yamauchi Masayuki spoke about the potential for both Kotozakura and Hoshoryu to be promoted to Yokozuna at the same time.

"I do not rule out the possibility of both of them being promoted to Yokozuna, and I hope for it."

Watch it for the victory the first time through. Then the second time watch the lady in the background, that was basically me watching this bout today. Hard luck on the slip for Hoshoryu but so pumped for Kotozakura to get his first 🏆.
