I think that is counterproductive. If you call out things that aren't AI as AI, that breaks down trust even in videos that can be verified. Accusations of AI need to be based.

You and I are looking at different videos. I was able to read the shirts easily. I found both Magellan Shirts from the clip and Mayeaux's Vinyl. I also found the TikTok from which this was taken and it's loaded with tons of other random videos. They are homesteading weirdos posting since before AI.

There is a high degree of stability from shot to shot. The text on the shirt is stable and clearly says "vinyl." I think what you're picking up on is the fake background blur from the iPhone that was likely used to film this.

I am torn about Hulk Hogan. He was a piece of crap, no doubt about it. But he was also omnipresent in my 80s and 90s childhood. His death is yet another fragment of my youth falling off into the sea of oblivion.

Not to defend Wall Street, but the CONCEPT isn't bad. A company wants to hold on to people, so they tie bonuses to long-term employment. As others in this thread have pointed out, some companies auto-vest ALL shares on layoff or Reduction In Force (RIF).

It was created as a form of "golden handcuffs." If someone gets all of their bonus in one go, they may leave then and there. But if they don't really receive their full bonus for three or four years, they are forced to hang around.

It's a form of remuneration that originated on Wall Street. Basically, you get stock as RSUs, or Restricted Stock Units. Restricted in the sense that you cannot access the stock until the "vesting period" has closed. After that the stock is "vested," you now own it, and can sell it for liquid money.

I had not previously made the connection, but one of the key business problems with AI is the same as with video game streaming: it doesn't make sense to centralize the power. Even if we accept AI's value, in the near future, local models will be best.
