For the first time, we linked a new fossil fuel project to hundreds of deaths. Here’s the impact of Woodside’s Scarborough gas project The results challenge claims that the climate risks posed by an individual fossil fuel project are negligible or cannot be quantified.

β€œit is no longer defensible for companies proposing new or extended fossil fuel projects to claim the climate harms will be negligible. Our research shows the harms are, in fact, tangible and quantifiable – and no project is too small to matter.”

Letter: UK choice β€” boost oil and gas imports or ramp up renewables From Tessa Khan, Executive Director of Uplift

"This isn't a choice between more North Sea drilling or imports β€” that ship has sailed. It’s between more imports or ramping up renewables. The transition must be better planned...but as long as the spectre of more drilling hovers, governments will continue to delay."

My letter in today's FT:

This would be laughable if it wasn't so serious: yet again, the Tories are claiming that we can get "all our oil and gas" from the North Sea and that we should be doing even more to support the industry to extract.

There are several reasons why we should treat this with maximum scepticism:

Can community groups contribute to this? We’re facing nothing but dead ends at Zero Carbon Daviot

@octopus.energy I thought the whole point of having a smart meter and direct debit was that it would make payments easier to manage. But you stopped taking payment for 9 months and are now hitting me with a huge bill.
Billing should be childs-play, why is the industry still so bad at this?

Thank you Kishorn Insulation and Icynene for ensuring that every time it’s windy my garden is littered with your product.
Perhaps you shouldn’t have convinced my neighbour to fill his listed building with this stuff because it’s all being ripped out, along with the rotting timbers it surrounds

Now and again my mother still sends me newspaper clippings. They’re usually from The Times on things she thinks I’ll find interesting.
They usually make me angry!
When will the media start telling the truth?
Can Kier tell me how to adapt to the collapse of the food system? πŸ€”
