We honored two incredible heroes who call our community home; First Lieutenant Ken Placek and Technical Sergeant Donald “Cool” Kuehl who served our country in World War 2. Their courage, service, and sacrifice continue to inspire us to carry those values forward in our communities.

Californians send more tax dollars to the federal government than our state gets back, and more has been cut that threatens the lives of our #seniors, children and families. We need bipartisan solutions to reverse these painful cuts. We must do better.

As a member of the Health Committee and the Health Budget Subcommittee I’ve worked with my colleagues to ensure #California has stepped up to protect Californians, but we cannot do it without federal partnership.

When my bill, the Chiquita Canyon Tax Relief Act was passed as part of the budget, it opened a financial relief path for community members who’ve received money in response to the Chiquita Canyon Landfill disaster.

Today, RM @repmarktakano.bsky.social issued the following statement regarding SB 694, urging his California colleagues to bring this important legislation to the floor for a vote.
