Billy Bragg, in a calm, measured way made Tice and Reform look like the total fools they are.

This is a brilliant post about heat pumps and policy. As a new heat pump owner, it has al already transformed our home; water, heating, aside from the carbon reduction the cost (we combine solar) has collapsed. Like getting an EV there’s no going back, this has to be the future.

I get crappy AI images of β€˜perfect’ wildlife scenes/habitats coming up on here. Hate them. As an antidote - real wildlife is 200+ #Swallows and #Housemartins gathering on the wires near my house. No embellishments! Sad to see them going bit joy at seeing them.

The relief was there when they won the GE but was tempered by the realism (concern) where Starmer would go. What is so disappointing, with a clear mandate they could’ve been brave, different. Any positive policy/change has been cancelled out by cock-ups & unnecessary lurch right.

Great news. Actually checked out our own membership yesterday (all good) and once COVID (yep 3rd time and wiped) really want to get involved.

Save Coul Links! Your voice could help save this precious habitat from a new threat of development.

So please take a little time to send a message and stand up for nature, including Fonesca’s Seed Fly: action.rspb.org.uk/page/166270

Save COUL LINKS protected nature from destructive DΓ©jΓ  Vu Groundhog golf course I've just signed the petition opposing plans to build a destructive luxury golf course at beautiful rugged Coul Links in the Scottish Highlands. Will you sign too?

This cause is close to my heart - please sign: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/sa... our finest, internationally important wildlife places need full protection. This application for a golf course ffs should never have seen the light of day. 😑

Today I’m mostly trying to do my bit for fungi conservation. Key point, the UK is globally important for grassland fungi. We protect just 5 sites in England. We have 26 #IUCN Red listed grassland fungi species i.e accorded the same status as Giant 🐼. I reckon we should be doing a bit better?!

Today as Trump violates the Uk, the weather is appropriately stormy and foul.

I have not heard a single rational or reasonable defence of the so called right (who in the current context are really proto-fascists) when challenged, that defends their outlandish position that the β€˜left’ are the carrying out violence against the right. USA is in a seriously bad place.

With the lovely rain finally dampening the grasslands I’m looking forward to waxcaps and other fungi to bury my head into the turf and disappear from the shit show going on in the world. Selfish escapism, but needed just occasionally. Anyway, some waxcap fungi pics⬇️

Dogma, neo-conservation absolutism is overtaking ecological thinking and costing nature in the process. It’s happening in the UK too either by misguided ideology (rewilding - which is important) poor understanding of grazing ecology and/or decline in sustainable farming/grazing practices.

Looking forward to your book, genuinely fascinated by this subject. As an ecologist, this stuff is disturbing but I was intrigued on a visit to the Orstvarderpsaslen years ago and the reconstructed Heck cattle and their dark fascist history. Somewhat scary reading too😳
