You will be hated by all for my nameβs sake. But not a hair of your head will perish. By your endurance you will gain your lives. Luke 21: 18 Image: sunset over London.
How do I feel when I read or hear of these catastrophic events in today's Gospel? Maybe upset or fearful ... Perhaps I ask for greater trust and hope. Or courage to be a faithful witness ..?

Light a candle. Take a moment to let God look at you, Breathe in God's love... With your hand on your heart ask Jesus to bring to your heart the moment todyay for which you feel most grateful. Recall what was said and done in that moment. Enjoy the gratitude you feel again now. Breathe in its life. Ask Jesus to bring to your heart the moment today for which you feel least grateful. What was said and done in that moment? Let it be. Breathe in God's love just as you are. Speak to God about what you have noticed. Give thanks to God for your day. Ask for help for tomorrow.
Let's review our day with God... breathe in God's love.
Why not share this prayer with others who may find a few moments of quiet reflection in God's loving gaze helpful?

Jesus, in the Gospel this Sunday, predicts the destruction of the Temple and other catastrophic events, as well as persecution and betrayal. He tells his disciples not to be afraid: this is not the end of the world, and he also promises to care for them.
