Thank you for amplifying. My kid was 3 months in her AC term out of Vicksburg-doing meaningful work, with a team she cared about, in a program that should be the pride of the US. Her team wasn’t able to get back in time for the Thursday dinner but enjoyed the leftovers. Thank you Vicksburg!

Americorps NCCC cuts include FEMA corps, which helps to train young adults in emergency management, including disaster response and recovery. The majority of FEMA funding goes to hurricane disasters. The ripple effect of these cuts make no sense from a financial or political standpoint.

And the people who did the training and organizing were apparently great and caring. So sad for them too.

Exactly the same for my daughter - was just settling into college and then spent almost two years on line bc of pandemic. Now, same situation - not even 1/3 of the way through her Americorps service and with a tight knit team of other young adults who want to help others. Heartbroken and disgusted
