A collection of 9 color palettes inspired by plants / anime.
A photo of bird of paradise, the hex code of the color palette inspired by it, and the color palette itself in normal and deuteranopia vision.
Color palette "liam", inspired by love in a mist flower, in normal and deuteranopia vision.
Color palette "bir", inspired by blue iris flower, in normal and deuteranopia vision.
3 new color palettes added to my GitHub repository of plant/anime inspired palette collections: bird of paradise (bop), love in a mist (liam), and blue iris (bir). Hex codes, how to use, and the respective inspirations are available at GitHub page: github.com/cxli233/Colo... #DataVisualization

Shake-flasks, used for growing bacteria, are lined up in a row. The colors of the bacterial cultures are light brown, dark brown, and yellow.
The same actinobacteria, different growth media! More than the colors, what shocked me was the smell. The far right flask smelled like pineapples 🍍 while the others were all earthy, particularly the third from the left. #secmet

Agave americana in bloom. Porto Covo, Portugal
Three tall succulent-style plants that grow close to the ground suddenly erupted into giant towers of brush-like flowers arranged around a central stalk. It looks like a spindly pine tree, if you squint at it.
The Maguey cactus (Agave americana) is also known as the "Century Plant" because it blossoms only once during its 10 - 30 year life, then dies... but what a blossom: up to 10 m/32 ft high
There's lots to talk about, but my favorite fact: it's in the same family as asparagus.
