07.10.2025 12:28 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 0 π 1October 2nd is Wrongful Conviction Day. Women are less than 10% of exonerees. Why? Women face additional hurdles to overturn a wrongful conviction. These include: lack of financial & legal resources, women's cases less likely to involve DNA, women's prisons located further from population centers...

26.09.2025 14:17 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Incarcerated women receive far fewer visits than incarcerated men. This is terrible for a variety of reasons. We're pleased to share that @paprisonsociety is providing affordable rides to SCI Muncy starting in October. Purchase tickets on their website: www.prisonsociety.org/services/transportation
25.09.2025 13:41 β π 0 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0If you're able, please send some encouraging words to Kim Joynes. She's an incarcerated survivor of sexual abuse and gender violence that began in childhood. Yesterday she was turned down for commutation of her LWOP sentence by PA Board of Pardons. She's served over 45 years in prison.
13.09.2025 19:38 β π 3 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Kim has pursued every avenue of rehabilitation and education available to her and has embraced her work as a peer educator. She is highly respected among the women she is incarcerated with. From our vantage, she is a highly meritorious candidate for commutation.
12.09.2025 19:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Following his release, he continued on as a sexual predator & was subsequently convicted for sexually abusing a child. Nonetheless, he has been living in the community for decades.
12.09.2025 19:43 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0She is the victim of sexual abuse and gender-based violence beginning in her childhood. Her relationship with the man who killed the victim in her case was a continuance of that abuse. That man was tried separately & received a lesser sentence. He was released from prison after a decade.
12.09.2025 19:43 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0We are heartbroken by the Board of Pardons decision to reject Kim Joynes application for commutation. Kim has been incarcerated for 45+ years & has the support of the PA DOC, as well as a robust network of friends & family ready to support her reentry.

She has served 4+ decades of LWOP for a murder committed by a man who was released in the 1990s. I'll be speaking on her behalf. You can tune in live next Friday to listen & support.

25.07.2025 14:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Happy birthday Kim Joynes! We're hoping for the gift of a #secondchance from the Board of Pardons in Sept. Kim has been incarcerated 4+ decades for being present at a murder. The murderer was released from prison in the 90s. She has earned the opportunity to be home with her loved ones and family.
25.07.2025 13:18 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Kim Joynes has spent over 4 decades in prison for a murder committed by a man she feared. He was released years ago. She has more than earned a second chance. Today she moved one step closer to getting it. Pardons Board granted her a public hearing for her application for sentence commutation.
10.07.2025 21:14 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A wonderful outcome in today's PA Board of Parole merit review hearings: Kim Joynes has been granted a public hearing for commutation! We've been working with Kim & her family for over 5 years and can confidently say that Kim has more than earned a second chance.
10.07.2025 13:47 β π 0 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Some truly GREAT news: Kim Joynes has been approved by the PA Board of Parole for a public commutation hearing. We've been working for this for 5+ years now. #secondchances
10.07.2025 13:45 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Kim Joynes has served 4+ decades of LWOP. She was present during an altercation btwn 2 men in which 1 man bludgeoned another to death. That guy was freed decades ago. We believe Kim more than deserves a commutation of sentence. We hope PA Board of Pardons agrees during tomorrow's merit review.
