Perhaps we might see a rise in consultants who debug LLM-written code for companies baffled by data leaks or revenue drops—not due to complexity, but because they lack engineers who can truly read and reason about the code.

If we all start vibe coding and stop learning software fundamentals, we’ll end up with fewer engineers who can actually debug or understand what LLMs produce. That’s how we lose control of our own software—not because LLMs replace us, but because we forget how to think like engineers.

I get the exact same reaction, but I kind of understand. As a native Android dev I find it hard to consider integrating flutter/RN modules into native projects. The fact that KMP compiles to bytecode might not be enough to persuade them that it won’t result in sub-standard quality?

Yes, but it was not fun 😅

Things I had to explain to my boss when I was building some:
- doesn’t work below Android 12
- can’t use existing app theme
- no custom fonts
- no async loading of images
- Difficult to handle sizes
- Difficult to update them consistently
- sparse documentation

I spent a lot of time finessing adaptive layouts with edge-to-edge support on both #ios and #android, while also using custom non-material design elements, such as navigation. Some of the APIs are hard to wield, but got there eventually. Let me know what you think!
