What response do you think the EU should make and do you have a better solution to the digital infrastructure problem?
The Digital service act is great but doesnt work without the power to enforce it or an alternative to the US SoMe services.

Create or subsidize a european version of Twitter or even better try to acquire Bluesky since it already has its own userbase.
I belive its an enourmous problem that our digital infrastructure is controlled by US oligarcs and extreme right wing politicians.
#MarcoRubio #EU #SoMe
This post by Rubio has higlightet one of the big european issues.
Limited to no control over the vital digital infrastructre that is SoMe which our communication, free speech and elections depend on.
The big ones like Meta and X are US based and ownded by Musk and Zuckerberg.
The soloution? π§΅
The lack of moral soundness makes him unfit to ever be in office again.

He is using all the same tactics loyalist use to defend Trump.
Attacking the media as fake news and our international institutions as biased antisemites.
He also deflects uncomfortable questions with what about Hamas just like MAGA does with Biden.

@walshfreedom.bsky.social
In Joe Walsh defence of Israel and the UN confirmed genocide in Gaza he reveals his ability to apply his empathy selectively.
The cognitive dissonance and willful ignorance is astounding.
Itβs the exact same ignorance, that made him vote for Trump.

Elon Musk reminds me so much of Robert Daly from the USS Calister episode of black mirror.
Itβs hard to get out of my brain.
Happy to see he changed the look of his profile whether itβs related to my comment or not :))
20.12.2024 16:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well I thought so initially, when i just joined the platform.
I followed people who were recognizable.
Same name and a profile picture, that looks like him.
The parody part isnβt even in the account name.
With a following of 400k i think itβs likely that a lot of people thought the same.
Why do you repost this account, when its a parody account?
Itβs so misleading and what I tried to get away from on twitter
This is not Jack Smith, but a parody account, which is stated in the bio.
Heβs also posting fake stuff now.
Why do so many people follow him!?
Itβs extremely misleading and exactly what I tried to leave behind on X.
Iβm currently chatting with two, but they are probably just scammers.
They are just not very aggressive, which is so confusing.
What has been your experience with the dm?
Youβve gotta love it!!

The important thing is taking the first steps towards creating a more just tax system.
Touched on some of the problems with capitalism and taxing in a another comment with @williamkeen.bsky.social, if youβre interested π€
Itβs really hard to describe how bad the 2010 SCOTUS decision that private entities can funnel unlimited amounts of money into politics really was.
13.12.2024 20:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ah yes, capitalism working as planned.
The confrontation of the upper class is inevitable.
I think the U.S. is in a unique position where taxing the rich fairly is without to many down turns.
Where would you realistically go if you were unhappy with paying your fair share? Mexico?
Voter turnout in the U.S. is a huge democratic problem.
Constitutionally disenfranchising most Americans via the electoral college doesnβt help.
However why would you complicate the proces with voter registration laws and demanding ID.
I think the idea of American exceptionalism plays in to that.
Such an important point!
Thatβs why the public schools should be one of the most important long term investments.
Property tax covering so much of local funding is unjust by design.
Republicans turning schools into a politcal battleground reproduces these poor-red-state-strongholds.
βAnti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge." - #IsaacAsimov #Anti-Intellectualism #UnitedStates

American excellence:
The fact that Americans are indoctrinated in school to think itβs the best at everything, makes the people not look outside itβs borders for better ideas or solutions.
USA is the ONLY western country:
That doesnβt have universal healthcare.
Has more guns than people.
π§΅
Anti-intellectualism:
Going against science to a point where you openly tell the public, climate change is a hoax, windmills give you cancer, bleach cure Covid or all journalists critical of me are evil would IMMEDIATELY disqualify you in all Scandinavian countries and most western countries.
𧡠I think two of the biggest factors to why the US ended up with a Republican Party and Trump is the rise of anti-intellectualism and the idea of American excellence.
I think itβs obvious and isnβt a big enough part of the conversation
#americanpolitics #trump #republicans #anti-intellectualism
Joe Rogan and many others ended up voting for Trump based on this great replacement theory, because they wanted to preserve democracy as a two party system.
The theory is so easy to shoot down and Fetterman had the opportunity in prime time, but didnβt have the brains or discipline to prepare.
He really doesnβt seem to smart.
Watched a clip on Joe Rogan where Joe pressed him on Musks conspiracy theory that democrats move illegal aliens to swing states to turn them blue.
As stupid as the theory was Fetterman had no counter argument or response.
Completely unprepared and embarrassing.
I loathe the way she is extremely critical of the west, while simultaneously defending authoritarian regimes like Putin and Assad. She even has the nerve to be smug about it.
The only thing that calms me is, that my country would have voted 96% Harris like my profile picture shows.
