Trump Is Bringing Back the War Department: What to Know

The most important thing to know is that the named was changed from the Dept of War to the Dept of Defense in 1949 BY CONGRESS in an amend to the National Security Act of 1947.

And it can only be changed back by an act of Congress. Not by a Presidential “re-brand.”
