We live in our environmental reality including political and governmental-what we are in-and the reality of our experiential life-who we are. No escaping our environmental life, but we can control our experiential life. "Attachment" to our environmental life makes sleeping worse.

The second question is not easily answered. We have not dealt with the our cultural responsibility to inculcate moral values with commensurate education (not just schooling) in our citizens and parenting, emanating in the systems guiding, and educating us.

The first question is easily answered. We who are surprised must reckon with why we are out of touch with the majority and whether we are really in touch with ourselves. Do we understand our own proclivity for prejudice, for lack of moral integrity, for fears and delusional beliefs?

The Democrats do not speak for most American voters. Blaming them for not speaking for most American voters is relevant if you have a personal stake in the short-term benefit of Democrats.
