GMs: what’s something you do for a long-term campaign that you don’t do for a one-shot? (Or vice versa!)

I’ll start: I check in with my players between major story arcs about changes to PCs’ goals, hopes, and fears. I also usually ask the players about outstanding threads they want most to explore.

Oooh this looks like so much fun! I have an image of a gruff chauffeur with sharp eyes that always has a baton-like item next to him on the front seat to discourage petty crimes and protect the detective.

Character-wise, mine is Clove (their butterflies and color scheme are so cute!) but if I’m gonna play smokes I usually go Omen.

Oooh I love Monsterhearts! I mostly play dnd but am slowly getting into daggerheart. Goatcrashers and Honey Heist are in my top games as well!

I love to see this kind of effort put into accessibility. While it should be the baseline, it’s always amazing to see the thoughtfulness and community-centric approach of great game designers.

If there’s not a r/frogs mention, that’s a travesty and should be corrected immediately

I’ve played in a KoB one shot, and I think there’s a couple mechanics to tweak to compensate for timing, but as a player it was so much fun! I don’t think there’s much that you’ll “miss out” on in a one shot as opposed to a campaign
