Hi friends! I'm still here. Working my way out of burnout, a car accident & a bad reaction to medication. Life can be really effing hard, but we continue on.

Still doing a drawing a day & usually managing to get out of bed. How are you doing?

I've been skirting the edge of complete burnout for a while now. Finding it hard to make art, write poems or even play or enjoy my garden.

The world is wearing me down...
Resistance is survival...
Taking it day by day
til I can laugh again.

Until that time... ❤️

An imperfect garden is a lovely thing.
An imperfect gardener is who I am.

Like a plant plunked down in a strange place.
To struggle, to grow, to fight for space.
Don't know if we'll survive to next season.
But we may bloom, we may spread, we may go to seed.

We may get called a weed.

Thinking about the people I miss....
I spent the weekend working hard in my garden. Probably harder than my body wanted. But since I was in pain anyway (thanks chronic pain) at least I got something done.

Here's a lovely tulip from my garden. Reward for my efforts.

This is about how I feel right now. I'm so exhausted.
(... for so many reasons.)

My cat Jellybean is so sweet. He sometimes gets seasonal allergies too.... and snores a bit when sleeping. His little pink tongue loves to just sit there tempting me to boop it.

I'm so glad to hear that! Same here. I sometimes get discouraged, but then I think even if one plant makes it up out of the ground in Spring, and I get to see it... it's a win. 🌱

I love a mutant tulip!

A red one... even better!

Trying to get into my garden as much as I can.
Chronic pain can make that very hard, but I'd rather be with my crazy plants than in bed being bored.

My big furry babies take up the whole a whole side all for themselves!

Rough weekend for my health, but I finally managed to get out into the garden to do a little work & a little nature appreciation.

Finally posted the photo of my Bloodroot. Feels like it took me forever. 😜

One of my favorite native plants. I planned on buying one (they are usually sold out) now I don't have to! Came up in my Wild Ginger patch planted two years ago. What a sweet gift!

It's been a very gray windy day. Big storms missed us by splitting North & South.
Discovered my cherry tree began blooming today!
Hard to photograph in the wind, got at least one shot.
Hoping my chronic pain will let me garden tomorrow, so many things popping up!

Double magic! I just found one in my garden. I've lived here for over 20 yrs and never had one before. It just grew out a patch of wild ginger I planted two years ago. Such a sweet gift from Mother Nature. :) I'll post a photo when I get a chance. 😍

I'm exhausted.

It's nice to be able to look back on photo memories of sweet fun times. Here is an Easter memory from when my kids were still doing egg hunts. My sweet fluff named Seiss always loved to sit in the sun while every one else was running around.

I think he had the right idea.
