Sounds like you've had some negative Scrum experiences. What you've described doesn't sound great. I've found Scrum works well in some contexts, and not so well in others, but in all contexts we've had to adapt it, extend it, and change it to create the best experience for the humans in the system.

2/2. But changing the system where something is happening isn’t enough. So I look towards the system outside the system that is driving, motivating and distorting the system in question, investing in that too. Systems often create and reinforce the systems within then. So I often work there too.

1/2. Good questions to consider. Mindset is always a challenge to shift as it’s often so amorphous and difficult to define. I usually begin with changing visible systems, structures, measures and incentive systems. I pair those with changes to visible behaviours. One reinforces the other.

Competence ≠ Authority. Thriving orgs diffuse authority to those closest to the work - balancing autonomy with alignment. Optimise collaboration, not control, and you’ll sense and respond faster. Treat people as humans, not parts. #Leadership #Agility #OrgDesign #Collaboration #Resilience
