As I wrote Min, I wasn't sure where I was going with the character. But she turned out to be such a delight, a bundle of joy in a gritty spy novel. I just loved her.

We passed cafés and patio diners on our way to the moneychanger’s shop. Tucked between a scarf shop and a candy store, Soo-Min’s Moneychangers vanished into the row of storefronts. A blinking LED marquee listed the latest currency exchanges. Otherwise, the place was forgettable. “This won’t take long,” I told Brian. “Look around if you want. Come inside when you’re done.” “I was hoping you’d say that,” he said, his inner tourist eager to be released. I stepped into Min’s shop. A faint scent of sage incense greeted me. I walked up to the counter, where an Asian woman sat on a stool, scrolling through her phone. “Hey Min, long time no see.” She glanced up and studied me for a moment, struggling to place my face. Then her eyes went wide with recognition. “Woulfe? Is that you? Ohmigod!” She tossed the phone down and hopped off the stool, circling the counter to hug me. “I haven’t seen you in forever! Gimme kiss!” I went for a cheek peck, but she landed a quick one on my lips instead. She lifted my hat and squinted. “What did you do to your hair? It looks awful!” I ran a hand over the mohawk, relieved to feel stubble starting to grow back. “I’m in disguise,” I said, smiling. “You shouldn’t have cut your hair,” she chided. “I love that hair! I’d kill for it, and I don’t mean figuratively.”

The road twisted through the fields like an old scar, silvered with frost. It was cold and rough, but beautiful in its own way. Highway 411 unwound under the tires, carrying me past barns caving in on themselves. Sunday morning. A church bell tolled somewhere, though the mist swallowed the sound. People were living lives the way normal folks did. I was not one of them. At least not anymore.

The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman is now on Netflix. I was quite pleased with the adaptation. Keep in mind, the book is 400 pages long. The movie is two hours long. Some changes needed to be made, but they kept the heart and emotion of the story.

So, Terminal List: Dark Wolf came out Wednesday, and tonight The Thursday Murder Club is out. It's like someone knows I write in both genres and wants to make me choose a favorite. I refuse. I will love each child equally.

I made some wonderful friends at #killernashville this year, and learned so much! I even got to wear my new rainbow shirts and got so many compliments. I'm so glad I went and can't wait until next year!

Day three of #killernashville writing conference is about to begin. My brain is getting full, in a good way.

Just thinking today about the great Terence Stamp. His portrayal of Bernadette Bassenger in The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert left behind a fierce and wonderful role model. A truly iconic and important performance.
