One of the most fascinating things about doing music for me is just diving into a bunch of field recordings, cutting, stretching and mangling them in all kinds of ways, and see what place all this leads to in the process!
Looks about-half decent for a 90s/early 00s cheapo DAW tbh, guessing from the screenshots. Would be interesting to know how far youโd get with your engineering experience these days using this.

Ha, neat idea showing off the individual mix elements in the screencast, I have to try this at one point!
One tiny advice: Iโd try to move smoothly when scrolling vertically as it felt a bit jumpy, visually speaking (maybe thatโs just a Reaper setting).
This is so important and true. I encourage everybody involved with music to watch and share it. People need to be aware of what #Spotify does to independent music.
Music is work. Work needs pay.
