The fun and frolics of a track teddy, the alter-ego of Dan the rail man. All views my own and subject to change. Was @trackteddy on twitter.

I post a lot on LinkedIn so have seen a lot of plagiarism of my stuff both direct and AI generated.
29.09.2025 14:25 â ð 1 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0The approach I often recommend is post a comment to original source, tagging in original author so they are aware. Screen shot it and see if poster acknowledge or delete the comment. If deleted then call them out. If they acknowledge then at least the original person gets the credit for the content
29.09.2025 13:40 â ð 4 ð 0 ðŽ 1 ð 0In reality the paper checks are (or should be!) cross referenced with a digital database to see that they are valid, not counterfeit, (which a rogue state can change anyway!). For example I can create a fake payslip and NI number, but when cross referenced by a new employer it'll still fail.
26.09.2025 13:50 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0What just like you already have to do with your National Insurance number?
26.09.2025 10:05 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 1 ð 0ISO8601 also specifies year-month-day as the date format, but I'm pretty sure the majority of the uk still uses day-month-year.
25.09.2025 10:32 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 1 ð 0It depends on where you live in the world. This explains more - www.timeanddate.com/calendar/day... Although there is more than a little controversy about the UK where I am.
24.09.2025 15:48 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 1 ð 0Sunday is the first day of the week for the majority.
24.09.2025 11:14 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 1 ð 0Slightly odd messaging. It seems to imply that if I go kill 2 cows then I offset the entire emissions from my car over 20+ years.

19.09.2025 13:40 â ð 1 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0A side view photo of a train. On it in big orange letters is the name Ctrl Alt Deleaf.
Why has NR's train graphics people taken on such a 60's vibe?
Surely a little at odds with the train name?

Childhood memory unlocked
Sat with class on a hollow wood floor around a telly on wheels.
I was bursting for a fart.
Up come the words, Stop - Look - Listen and on cue
it happened
A thunderous eruption so loud that it could have been an earthquake. It resonated through the floor
Everyone ROTFL
Glad to see you are using the dash diagnostics to read temp and the gauge is merely ornamental!
17.09.2025 10:10 â ð 1 ð 0 ðŽ 1 ð 0Nightmare Tech-Fail Tuesday yesterday.
Delivering a webinar in the evening
1. Part of slide deck stops working due to software update
2. Automated audience reminder e-mails don't go out
3. Tech guy can't log into webinar platform
4. Screen-share quits halfway though.
Today has got to be better!
Likely an automated process and it depends on where the sensors are to detect the train has passed.

15.09.2025 09:49 â ð 1 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0Has anyone told NR they need to unblock it?
11.09.2025 10:17 â ð 0 ð 0 ðŽ 1 ð 0Weirdly I think I remember that too. Didn't it make up the tags in funky colours?

Oh yes and you'll need to get residential customers to commit to having your electricity turned off or charged at extortionate rates during peak periods too to be fair too
People walking out in front of traffic without looking do bear some responsibility for the accident no matter how distasteful you may find it.

Perfectly sensible video FOR CYCLISTS to encourage safe behaviours.
Yes often the gravest risk to cyclists are car drivers - but this video isn't for them.
Should there also be a video aimed at car drivers - yes probably.
But don't let perfection become a barrier to progress.
As an ex horse person I get the reference. Thoroughbreds being rafe horses and colts being a boy horse.

13.08.2025 08:50 â ð 1 ð 0 ðŽ 0 ð 0Have you ever been in there? It isn't particularly nice, and it can't be "open" in a conventional way either due to the airlocks.
