A color one-sheet for the retitled and retooled The Woman on Pier 13 (1950, Robert Stevenson). The ad proffers “high voltage melodrama!” over the image of a smiling blonde reclining in a red dress. Given the film’s politics, the color is no mistake.

A critical and commercial failure during an October 1949 run in LA and San Francisco, RKO Pictures shelved the film until June 1950 before releasing it under the mysterious-sounding—and baffling—title The Woman on Pier 13.
