Exciting announcement from @inkle.co this morning AND I get to play Dispatch on Twitch with Nick and Dennis from @adhocstudio.com in an hour? This is what we call "a good day at work."

Today is the day to tell a strange story.

The long version we'll tell later, but the short version is this. In an attic, in his late great-uncle's house, @jon.inkle.co found a locked trunk. It took twenty years to open. Last summer he did.

Inside was a wiring diagram, and a stack of books.

I know, it's a huge loss. I saved all my articles a few years ago and might post them on my website, but that's just a tiny fraction of what was there. Between the content and the forums, it's almost 30 years of adventure game history just wiped out. 🫠

Hey, kids! Who wants to look at some Old Game Development Images? When we were starting work on remastering Sam & Max Save The World, we weren't sure what we wanted things to look like so we did a couple early tests by drawing over the original game, sweetening the colors, trying more stylization:

I saved most of my articles as PDFs a few years back, so at least I still have them.

I wrote 100+ articles for AG between 2004 and 2022. My experience there got my foot in the door at Telltale, which shaped my entire career. Lately I'd been using the forums A LOT for research for a book I'm writing -- an enormous amount of history wiped out. I'm sad about this for so many reasons. 😔
