So day five of 11-12hr shifts, and one 8hr ish day left tomorrow and that’s the end of this gig. One hell of a finale for a couple months worth of work.

Excitement of a fit up week slowly revealing how awesome everything you’ve worked on for months coming together looks. How decisions made weeks ago play out and having to quickly problem solve.

All slightly offset by nothing currently booked in and Mrs P being out of work in a couple of weeks too.

Sounds like you might also like The Cuckoo’s Egg by Cliff Stoll. Another well written autobiographical tale about a maths professor tracking down cyber criminals before there really was such a thing. I think I’m on my fourth or fifth copy because I keep giving them away.

I’ve been reading them to the Kid for years, she stopped wanting mum to read to her two or three years ago, but discworld means I still get to read bedtime stories to a teen and I get to re experience them.

I’m going to be gutted when we get to the end of the series some time next year :(
