I have lanterns, backup phone batteries, etc. But I’d love an affordable solution to keep the modem/router powered, & maybe my little car fridge. I’m wondering if a 250 or 500w camping battery would do the job, at least weekdays after work. @richontech.tv any suggestions?

I realize this is insignificant compared to what many are dealing with in LA, but my little canyon in OC has been without power for pretty much a whole week due to SCE Public Safety Power Shutoff). One of the worst parts of this is we have almost no cell service, so no reliable way to stay informed

Yesterday I took off work because I didn’t want to leave my dog home alone and didn’t want to stray too far from home, just in case. Luckily a friend said I could stay with her, which ended up turning into a lovely impromptu dinner party with a bunch of our friends. I feel very blessed.

Edison sent out an email this morning indicating they may keep our power off through the weekend and maybe longer, with winds expected to pick up. A small inconvenience compared to what many in LA are dealing with, but still frustrating.

Awful! Having no power is a small inconvenience in comparison, but it’s the third time in a couple months and I’m not hopeful it’ll go on before Friday.

I’m in Orange County in a fire-prone canyon with power currently shut off and a major fire nearby in September. These LA fires are so devastating, and now two near where to I used to live years ago in the Bird Streets. Positive ones to all affected.
