I'm a social media strategist. I'm going to comment os social platforms. I'm not sure why you're hell bent on fighting strangers on here, but by all means please feel free to find the block button 🙃

Well you *didn't* see that on your feed with mine. You keep incorrectly distorting my post to be Zuck bashing when I specifically said "problematic changes with the platforms" and never once mentioned him by name.

Challenging total strangers in your feed feels like an act of futility. Strangers don't influence strangers. That's just not how human beings are wired. We're influenced by life experience (pain, mostly) and trusted connections.

You're paraphrasing wildly - my post isn't in the same zip code as calling him evil. I don't even use that word. But that aside - I'm curious about why? You & I are followed by no one in common & follow no one in common. You don't follow me/vice versa.

Instead, I'll maintain my clients under my current contracts and continue to pivot them away from using these platforms professionally. (I've already pulled 2 from X) I stay secure, clients stay supported & the platforms themselves lose meaningful business accounts which are the bread and butter.

To do so would be to demolish my situation immediately but not his/theirs. That's insanely poor strategy. It's like the financial version of self-immolation. Blustery and immediate... with little to zero true impact.

If your suggestion is to literally knock the bottom out of my life in one fell swoop, to end all sources of financial support of myself and open myself up to breach of contract issues with clients - then you aren't being realistic about the human experience and you aren't great at strategy.

I can't delete my account without losing access to my client accounts and my services are bound under contract. So for now, until I'm able to pivot fully away from providing social strategies to clients to focus exclusively on my other services,

I'm a social media strategist and understand the mechanisms of value with these platforms intimately. The reportable metrics that matter to advertisers are views, engagement, reach & clicks and I will not be contributing to those metrics.

I'm weirdly excited to turn 55 in April because I now qualify for 55 and older communities!

But at the end of the day I can't give that guy more riches via my eyeballs.

Yes, I'm calling my exit from IG "phase 2" because I really do need to understand what's trending, and all of the new features that are constantly rolling out. And honestly it isn't the cesspool that FB is to some degree already and is about to FULLY be again very shortly.

I'm officially logged off Facebook and Threads. Instagram will take some time and thinking - it's so hard as a social media strategist to navigate these problematic changes to Meta and X, but I have to take steps one way or the other!
