I mean, they said any sport. Not every sport involves a ball. Motorsports, winter sports like skiing, esports even. Humans naturally want to engage in team activities like sports. Seeing someone throw a great curve ball is the same as watching a master woodworker. Human skill.

I would argue the compute needed to stream a video in compressed 1080p does not use as much energy as making a whole cluster of servers rewrite your weekly emails. But I could be wrong.

It was a close game. Wranå missing that hard double in the 6th is pretty much the only major mistake I saw. Unfortunately that probably cost them the game.

OpenAI is the default so much so that ChatGPT is approaching "googling" even when they don't know which LLM they are even using. Altman is "The AI guy" I think we missed the train for someone else. There may be vendors that are better, but I'm not as optimistic that Altman and OAI go away.

I should apologize with the heat that I came at the topic with. It's been a rough week, but personally, the messaging and ideas being pushed by tvm of AI companies is not something that is compatible with a humanity first approach.

Sam Altman said "I can't imagine raising my child without ChatGPT" something people have been doing for thousands of years but he wants you to think you need his whizbang to do it. Every single ad for Gemini is people asking the most basic questions to a chat bot. Vibecoders are not the issue.

I visited Fairbanks in 24 and 25 during February and I still think about that place regularly.

As a certified LLM/AI hater the environmental impact is only one of the major issues with the technology. The intentional dumbing down of the population is also extremely concerning.

Also with the Olympics upon us it's always a good reminder to look up your local curling club and attend a learn-to-curl. It's an extremely welcoming and friendly community and I highly recommend everyone give it a shot. Good Curling 🥌
