Though I can't confirm or deny it, I'm seeing a few people on r/vegan say that they're being banned from r/leftist for posting about animal oppression. This is the stupidest shit, but it comes with the territory of being on the frontier of thought and public discourse. We fight on.

Of course, the idea of centrism to US moderates is a subjective description. In their minds, the definition of center is the halfway point between the 2 major parties, 1 of which is in reality - and in relation to the rest of the world - right of center, and the other much more right of center.

Or else, what they mean by "moderate," is that they moderate in favor of the far-right.

If people who identify as moderates are more willing to accept the actions of the far-right than they are the far-left, then they're probably more right wing than moderate, aren't they?

And once they've been sacrificed for a few more years of their uberwealthy oligarchies, the next tier up, and so on.

Maybe the most important point to emphasize is the problem of both our politicians and the mass media being driven totally by the forces of capitalism - their ultimate goal accumulation of wealth, at the expense of the climate, planet, and the most vulnerable among us...

The democratic party is complicit, there's no denying it. That we continue allowing the mass media to portray them as the left is our fault. We need to stand up to both parties. We need to break from them. We need a new mass movement before we are dragged into proverbial hell.

Per many scholars in fields studying the subject, we're nearing full on fascism. Per our greatest thinkers of the last ~100 years, all signs point to the same conclusion.

And what got us here, as ever, are the moderates capitulating to the far right, feeding the most vulnerable sheep to the wolves.

But an even BIGGER question to ask yourself is this:

Is it even ethically good to confine an animal indoors, or even within a fenced in yard, when their instincts are to live freely with others like them?

And if you have "outdoor pets," aren't they invasive? How r they affecting wildlife around u?

Also, ~6.3M animals enter the US shelter system annually (per same source above), so b4 taking one in, it's a good idea to think abt some stuff:

1. Taking care of a living being isnt cheap
2. They require time and devotion too
3. They r SENTIENT (they can suffer BOTH physically AND emotionally)

PLEASE, if u r considering taking a non-human animal into your home, adopt one from a shelter!

Buying bred animals - u'v no doubt heard - perpetuates a cycle that pumps more animals into the shelter system where, per ASPCA, ~920,000 beings r killed annually (2019 data).
