With the issues around class gender race and diversity in general facing the record keeping sector at the moment, I cannot recommend this book enough. A brilliant introduction and lots of practical guidance we can apply to our sector.

Photo-Me trashed all their analogue booths when restructuring in late 90s so all analogue photobooths today are run by independent people/small companies. I’ve been conducting interviews w/all these techs (incl Ryan below) for a community archive: The Photobooth Technicians Project- link in bio!

I'm working on a cataloguing resource for the Digital Preservation Community Archives Toolkit (www.dpconline.org/digipres/imp...) today. If you could tell Community archives #JustOneThing about cataloguing hybrid collections, what would it be? Do you have any rules for cataloguing digitised content?

Still lot's of time to sign up and learn more about the toolkit. I'm also hoping to hear feedback from those using it!

I'm at the Engine Shed in Stirling today to be a panelist at a Scotlands Community Heritage Event. #CelebrateCHC. Been asked for thoughts on a strategy that hasn't included archives or digital although it focuses on the historic environment. Should be interesting!

My next book, Averting the Digital Dark Age: How Archivists, Librarians, and Technologists Built the Web a Memory comes out in just a few weeks (December 10th!) with @hopkinspress.bsky.social. It'll be open access.

This has been a great project to work on! So pleased it's finally out there!

This toolkit released on #WDPD2024 will be really valuable for working with community archives. Simply written and accessible for groups with limited resources.
