At the time, I thought liberal arts classes were a waste of time. Now 3 of my 5 most important classes for my job/overall world view were: anthropology 101, anthropology of science, women's studies 101. I'm glad I was "made" to take them, quite honestly.

Losing on this issue feels like my life's biggest failure. My words and scientific reality could not overcome a century of bigotry and false assumptions about trans bodies.
