Microwave PCB design is crazy stuff. Check out YT videos from The Signal Path where he's done some reverse-engineering and explanation of similar boards.

My last PCB order took 4 days from placing the order until they were at the doorstep. Not a lot of time to write the code - fortunately I'd written most of the it during the breadboard phase leading up to the PCB design, so that wasn't a problem.

Companies that publish LLM-generated "information" need to be held accountable when the LLM's hallucinations harm others. 90% accuracy is still pollution when you factor in the millions of queries that they generate per hour.

It's a challenge. While you can find decent mic amps in many general-purpose mixers, the low-noise gain and power supply rejection that's needed in this application requires analog design chops that most Eurorack mfgs just don't have.

I grew up next to a few ponds in SW Ohio. There were a lot of toads. I miss them.

It's fascinating to see the way things were done back at the beginning. I did some RE on the 1986 MIDIverb a few years ago and the shortcuts & optimizations were amazing.

Turns out that it's more likely to be a cousin species - the tobacco hornworm. Your picture shows the horn at the back end is red which is the give-away. Still a good idea not to have them on your plants.
